Cool Website Designs

The line between design and development in the world of the web is becoming more and more blurred of late, with fashion and functionality combining into a single essentially required entity. As such, cool website designs of the past may have been exactly that five years ago, though are deserving of no such title now. Needless to say, staying relevant as the new decade moves on is no mean feat, especially when all cool website designs must now take into account tablet PCs, netbooks, Smartphones and whatever else may be just around the corner. There are, however, a couple of trends set to take centre stage for the coming months, offering the best approaches for web developers for the next generation. Surprisingly, the latest and greatest approach for cool website designs in 2011 and beyond is simplicity. Nothing has quite the same level of impact as a strong message mounted on subtle background. In the right hands, even pallets limited to three colors have the potential for higher impact than all the special effects in the world combined.

As stated above, those wishing to get their cool websites designs in front of as many viewers as possible simply MUST make their creations mobile-friendly. Contrary to popular belief, this in no way required the dumbing-down of the sites of the content therein, but instead a complex and careful strategy of mobile optimization.

While mice are certainly far from the extinction list as of today, the vast majority of users are moving more and more toward touchpad and touchscreen interface, making the truly cool website designs those that take this into account. Of course, optimize the site for both and you're well and truly laughing.

Finally, while most may be in line with the times, not all visitors will have a connection of epic power and speed. As such, do not assume that all potential clients and readers will have systems able to handle masses of multimedia content and the like, instead allowing such goodies to be viewed optionally if so wished.
